Government Polytechnic College ,Alwar lies in a place of very lush green forests and lakes, dotted with architectural splendors, surround the harsh hills. It is 2KM away from Railway station and 5 km from Bus stand in east direction near itarana flyover .
Government Polytechnic, Alwar was established in 1960 with Diploma courses in Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering with students intake capacity 30 each course. Thereafter from Diploma in Electronics Engineering introduced with students intake capacity of 15 and started from academic year 1987.
The institute has been established to prepare skilled manpower required by the Industry by imparting training in theory, drawing and practical skills for three years. A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at Government Polytechnic, Alwar in its various departments.
The institute is running in the overall control of Ministry of Technical Education, Government of Rajasthan and Directorate of Technical Education Rajasthan, Jodhpur. The courses are affiliated with the Board of Technical Education Rajasthan, Jodhpur.
