COURSE DESCRIPTION


B.A. Hons. Sanskrit or Bachelor of Arts Honours in Sanskrit is an undergraduate Sanskrit language course. Sanskrit is a historical Indo-Aryan language and the primary liturgical language of Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. B.A. Hons. in Sanskrit is chiefly about Sanskrit language and its literature. B.A. is generally three academic year degree course and it may be provided on part time basis by certain institutes. The curriculum is divided into three parts and eight papers. The Sanskrit graduate has many career scopes in India as they can join schools; colleges and run their own other educational units.


B.A. Hons. Sanskrit Eligibility

  • The candidates should complete their 10+2 or its equivalent exam in Arts stream with Sanskrit as one of the subjects.

B.A. Hons. Sanskrit Course Suitability

  • Students having good knowledge of Sanskrit and have interest in it are most suitable for this course.
  • Those who are willing to go for teaching fields at higher degree level i.e. college and university level both in private and government institutions also are good match for it.
  • Those who want to become preacher (Pandit) of Sanskrit language and slokas also are the good match for it.

How is B.A. Hons. Sanskrit Course Beneficial? 

  • This degree course enables the students to go for various Sanskrit related jobs such as they can become translator, interpreter and guide for the tourist.
  • One can go for higher degree programmes in respective subjects, e.g. Masters’ degree, etc for being eligible at the college level as a lecturer along with NET exam which is compulsory for it.
  • Third, they can be given member representative status in India’s cultural programmes being conducted here in country and the foreign lands.
