COURSE DESCRIPTION

B.Sc. Geology or Bachelor of Science in Geology is an undergraduate Geology course. Geology is the science that comprises the study of the solid Earth and the processes by which it is shaped and changed. Geology provides primary evidence for plate tectonics, the history of life and evolution, and past climates. In modern times, geology is commercially important for mineral and hydrocarbon exploration and for evaluating water resources; is publicly important for the prediction and understanding of natural hazards, the remediation of environmental problems, and for providing insights into past climate change; plays an essential role in geotechnical engineering; and is a major academic discipline. The duration of B.Sc. (Geology) course is of three years.

B.Sc. Geology Eligibility

  • Students should have passed their 12th class in Science stream with English as one of the subjects.

B.Sc. Geology Course Suitability

  • Those who have good communication skills along with written, oral and graphical methods, preparing, processing, interpreting and presenting data, using appropriate qualitative and quantitative techniques and packages are good match for it.
  • Second, when they would use modern technologies of solving numerical problems using computer and non-computer based techniques it will provide a wide range of knowledge which will make them for further higher studies.
  • Apart from basic operations they also possess presentation skills and workstation experience which are particularly important.
