COURSE DESCRIPTION


B.A. Hons. Anthropology or Bachelor of Arts Honours in Anthropology is an undergraduate Anthropology course. Anthropology is the study of humanity. The degree course introduces students to the key issues, themes and problems. They shall be able to study all kinds of human society and culture, and will develop an understanding of the relevance of anthropology for understanding contemporary cultural issues. It has origins in the humanities, the natural sciences, and the social sciences. B.A. (Hons.) in Anthropology is generally three academic year degree course and it may be provided on part time basis by certain institutes. The syllabus of it is divided into eight papers. The scope of this course is enough and the candidates can get job during the last hours of the course.

  • The candidates should complete their 10+2 or its equivalent exam in Arts stream.

  • Students those who interested in Anthropology and its related areas, etc. are most suitable for this course.
  • Those who are willing to go for teaching fields at higher degree level i.e. college and university level both in private and government institutions.
  • Who carries the learning and study skills, written communication, analytical and critical skills, ability to gather, assess and interpret data, oral communication and presentation skills, time management and discussion and group work skills are good match for it.
  • Applicants also possess communication skills (such as public speaking, developing and presenting an argument, report writing), analytical thinking, awareness of social, political and cultural processes.
