COURSE DESCRIPTION


B.A. Hons. Political Science or Bachelor of Arts Honours in Political Science is an undergraduate Political Science course. Political science is a social science concerned with the study of the state, government and politics; it deals extensively with the theory and practice of politics, and the analysis of political systems and political behaviour. B.A. is generally three academic year degree course and it may be provided on part time basis by certain institutes. The curriculum of the course is divided into six semesters. The scope of the course is widespread in India as they can go in various political fields and its related areas.


B.A. Hons. Political Science Eligibility

  • The candidates should complete their 10+2 or its equivalent exam in Arts stream from a recognised school board.
  • The marks of admission for the course may vary from college to college and place to place.

B.A. Hons. Political Science Course Suitability

  • Students those who interested and good in Political Science are most suitable for this course.
  • Those who are desirous to go for teaching fields at higher degree level (college and university level) both in private and government institutions also are good match for it.
  • If you can research, source and examine information thoroughly, critically analyse evidence and construct coherent arguments in order to present your own strong and cohesive point of view then you are good suit for it.

How is B.A. Hons. Political Science Course Beneficial?

  • They have many areas for career such as local and national government, councils, charities, accountancy and banking organisations, law firms, and retail and media companies. Further recruiters include the United Nations (UN), the European Commission, lobbying, campaigning, and voluntary organisations and the public sector.
  • One can go for higher degree programs in respective subjects, e.g. Masters’ degree, etc. and can join and be employed in many educational institutions.
  • Other area of benefit is government and public administration which includes the Civil Service (central government) and local and regional government (the public sector).
  • Charity and development work is also job providing field which includes information on voluntary work and careers with charities, international aid and development organisations.
