COURSE DESCRIPTION

B.E. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is a four-year Aeronautical Engineering course. Aircraft maintenance engineers are responsible for keeping the aircraft in perfect flying conditions. They are involved in the repair and maintenance of aircraft. Course deals with the design and manufacture of aircraft while AME trains one for servicing the aircraft. This course teaches the fundamentals of propulsion, electronics, and automatic control guidance, theory of aerodynamics, structural analysis, material science, and fluid dynamics. Aircraft maintenance engineering is not a degree or a diploma course, but a training program. On completion of the training, a license is issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This degree is a multidisciplinary program, built upon a strong foundation of the sciences, mathematics and ‘hands-on’ aircraft maintenance fundamentals, designed to meet the needs and interest of students who want to excel and develop a career as a knowledgeable and competent aircraft maintenance engineer.

B.E. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Eligibility

  • 10+2 in science with 50% or equivalent CGPA.
  • Some of the very reputed universities and institutes conduct entrance examination for admission.

B.E. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course Suitability

  • The Course is suitable for those who are comfortable with mechanics and are good working with their hands will have the best chance of succeeding.
  • They must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • It helps those who want to have further degrees and then for research work also are suitable for it.

How is B.E. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course Beneficial?

  • The course is beneficial for those students who wish to work in the aviation industry can study aerospace or aeronautical engineering and want to do something new in the very field.
  • After completing their course candidates are eligible to get jobs in airports and aircraft manufacturing or maintenance firms with an attractive salary. As more and more airlines start operations in the private sector, there will be an increase in demand for aircraft maintenance engineers and mechanics.
  • Students who successfully complete the course can then appear for DGCA license examination. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licenses are issued to those students who successfully pass the exam.
  • Those who have obtained the license can start working with private or public airlines.
