COURSE DESCRIPTION

B.Tech. Power System Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Power System Engineering is an undergraduate Power System Engineering course. This program, at the intersection of electric power, economics and management, prepares professionals in power generation, transmission and distribution, and power equipment. The students can also switchover to other specializations like energy conservation, renewable energy engineering, sustainable development. Course deals with the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power as well as the electrical devices connected to such systems including generators, motors and transformers. The duration of the course is four years and it provides many careers after its completion.

B.Tech. Power System Engineering Eligibility

  • XII with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or equivalent with minimum 55% marks.
  • Some reputed colleges and institutes conduct entrance examination for admission.

B.Tech. Power System Engineering Course Suitability

  • Those who want to plan, design, construct, operate and maintain power systems and equipment. This is the infrastructure that generates transports and distributes electricity, the heartbeat of modern society.
  • Candidates who want to pursue a career with major corporations and government departments also can go for it.
  • Applicants willing for further Master degree and then for research work also are suitable for it.

How is B.Tech. Power System Engineering Course Beneficial?

  • It is beneficial to pursue a career with major corporations and government departments involved with providing and using electrical power, or conduct research on developing alternative power sources such as solar and wind energy.
  • The course also helps for further studies such as M.E./M.Tech., M.Phil., Ph.D. etc.
  • The course helps you to design and test your controllers for a wide variety of applications including small power converters, hybrid electric drives, large power grids and renewable energy systems.
  • Graduates in power engineering may go on to become power transmission and generating systems engineers, grid maintenance and stability contractors and industrial power supply engineers.
