COURSE DESCRIPTION

B.Tech. Textile Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Textile Engineering is an undergraduate Textile Engineering course. Textile Engineering deals with the application of scientific and engineering principles to the design and control of all aspects of fibre, textile, and apparel processes, products, and machinery. These include natural and man-made materials, interaction of materials with machines, safety and health, energy conservation, and waste and pollution control. Textile Engineering uses the principles of engineering with specific knowledge of textile equipment and processes. The course curriculum also draws knowledge from other engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical and industrial and chemical engineering. The course is four years duration and career orienting in nature.

B.Tech. Textile Engineering Eligibility

  • A pass in Plus-two or its equivalent, with minimum 60% or equivalent CGPA.
  • Some of the very reputed universities and institutes conduct entrance examination for admission.

B.Tech. Textile Engineering Course Suitability

  • Those who want to improve textile fibres and produce new textile fibres can go for it. The work of the textile engineers involves mechanical, chemical and industrial fields of engineering as well.
  • They should have good communication skills, computer skills, good analytical and problem-solving skills, and have an eye for detail.
  • They should also have an organising ability, logical thinking, practicality, ability to deal with people diplomatically, patience, creativity, flexibility to understand and apply new technologies are added skills in this field.
  • Applicants must also have knowledge of the market, be able to predict new trends and be updated with continuous changing technology in this field.

How is B.Tech. Textile Engineering Course Beneficial?

  • Textile technology degree is beneficial to provide you with the skills and knowledge needed for a professional career in the fashion and textile industries, including sportswear and performance apparel, interior textiles, automotive textiles and advanced technical materials.
  • Graduates gain employment in the fashion and textile industries, including product developers, textile technologists, technical managers, research and development managers and quality control managers.
  • The course also helps for further studies such as M.E./M.Tech., M.Phil., Ph.D. etc.
  • Textile Engineering is therefore very important for the development and comfort of the society. Textile Engineers are concerned with the research and discovery of new technologies for production and improvisation of textiles.
  • Textile Engineers are employed in departments of textile plants and companies varying from small to big scale, i.e., production, planning, quality control, sales or marketing or in agencies of domestic or foreign companies for textile products and textile machinery, concentrated in different regions of the country.
