M.A. Anthropology or Master of Arts in Anthropology is a postgraduate Anthropology programme which is awarded after successful completion of a two years program or course that covers comprehensive and thorough study of the evolution of man and the socio-cultural development of humans. The course also covers the study of several branches of anthropology (Socio-cultural, Biological-Physical, Applied, Linguistic and Archaeological) that deals with various aspects of human developments. The duration of the course is two years and it provides many opportunities to them after its successful passing.

M.A. Anthropology Eligibility

• The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing M.A. (Anthropology) degree is graduation in any stream but many of the colleges demand graduation with Anthropology as the subject studied in graduation from any of the recognised university/college of the country.
• Some of the very reputed universities and institutes demand a minimum of 50% marks in graduation as qualifying criteria to secure admission in this course and conduct entrance examination to get admission to their M.A. (Anthropology) degree course.
• Selection to the degree course in these colleges is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of graduation and the entrance exam.

• Candidates having the qualities of learning and study skills, written communication, analytical and critical skills, ability to gather, assess and interpret data, oral communication and presentation skills, time management, discussion and group work skills are the most suitable for this course.
• Second, who have good statistical and computing techniques; high level of cultural awareness; clear, logical and independent thinking; organising and planning; problem-solving and constructing an argument are also good match for it.
