COURSE DESCRIPTION


M.A. Sanskrit or Master of Arts in Sanskrit is a postgraduate Sanskrit course. It is a historical Indo-Aryan language and the primary liturgical language of Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. It is an official language of the state of Uttarakhand. The duration of M.A. (Sanskrit) is mostly of two academic years but it may vary from institute to institute. The syllabus is divided into four semesters ranging from it origin to development up to now. M.A. (Sanskrit) course is job orienting one and opens many fields for the students through the country.


M.A. Sanskrit Eligibility

  • The candidates should complete their B.A. degree under any recognised University or College in Arts stream.
  • The marks of admission for this course may vary from institute to institute.

M.A. Sanskrit Course Suitability

  • Students those who want to preserve Sanskrit language and literature and good knowledge of it can go for this course.
  • Second, those who are willing to have higher degrees for teaching purposes are also good match for it.
  • Third, who have good communication skills and knowledge of Sanskrit language are also good match for it.

How is M.A. Sanskrit Course Beneficial?

  • Students have many benefits of it; those who have completed M.A. Sanskrit can also opt for a B.Ed. course and become teachers or professors of Sanskrit language.
  • As the students of M.A. Sanskrit learn Sanskrit poetry, grammar, culture and civilization and some colleges also offer an option of studying astrology along with M.A. Sanskrit.
  • Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan also offers students the option of taking vocational training in Sanskrit short-hand and typing and cataloguing manuscripts. These short-term courses along with the M.A. Sanskrit degree will help students obtain jobs in Sanskrit departments of colleges or in Libraries that carry Sanskrit manuscripts and books.
