M.D. Pathology or Doctor of Medicine in Pathology is a postgraduate Pathology course. Pathology is the study and diagnosis of disease through examination of organs, tissues, bodily fluids, and whole bodies (autopsies). Areas of study include cellular adaptation to injury, necrosis, and inflammation, wound healing, and neoplasia. Course helps the candidates to be able to perform procedures designated for laboratory detection of diseases. Course deals with effects, development, processes and causes of diseases. Subjects studied under this degree are Pathology, Microbiology, Immunology, Medical Genetics and Neuroscience. The course is very valuable and opens many job opportunities for them after its successful completion.
