COURSE DESCRIPTION


M.Tech. Computer Engineering or Master of Technology in Computer Engineering is a postgraduate Computer Engineering course. The course of M.Tech. (Computer Engineering) is of two years duration in general. The two years are further divided into two half-yearly semesters each. M.Tech. in Computer Engineering consists of detailed study of the wide application of computer science. The course is broad in nature covering a wide range of subtopics which includes a complete study of the software as well as hardware of the computer. The M.Tech. (Computer Engineering) programs in India are usually structured as an Engineering Research degree, lesser than Ph.D. and considered to be parallel to M.Phil. and M.S. degrees in Humanities and Science respectively. So, M.Tech. (Computer Engineering) degree is a research-based degree where the student does the research work like in Ph.D. work. The degree course is valuable and job orienting in nature.


M.Tech. Computer Engineering Eligibility

  • The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing an M.Tech. (Computer Engineering) degree is qualifying B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Engineering or equivalent examination.
  • Alternatively, a candidate who has passed in the Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers (AMIE) examination with appropriate specialization in Computer Engineering is also considered eligible for admission to M.Tech. (Computer Engineering) degree course.
  • Some of the very reputed universities and institutes conduct entrance examination to get admission to their M.Tech. (Computer Engineering) degree course. Generally, the admission is through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Score Merit List.
