COURSE DESCRIPTION

M.Tech. Nano Science and Technology or Master of Technology in Nano Science and Technology is a postgraduate Nanotechnology course. During the course candidates will learn the basics of physics, biology, and chemistry at the nanometre scale, topped with courses on technology and engineering to ensure practical know-how. The program fits into the growing worldwide convergence between these different basic sciences, and between science, technology, and engineering sciences in general. Program studies the relationship between artificial and biological systems on a Nano-meter scale and its application in various fields. The Master degree course develops an understanding of related disciplines such as Nanoelectronics, Nanomedicine, Nanooptics, Nanobiotechnology, Nanomaterials, Nanomechanics and Nanoparticles & Nanomaterials. Nanotechnology aims at the design and creation of functional materials, structures, devices and systems through direct control of matter on the nanometres length scale and exploitation of novel phenomena and properties on this length scale. The Master degree program is two years and its syllabus are divided into four semesters.

M.Tech. Nano Science and Technology Eligibility

  • Candidates should have passed B.E./B.Tech. in Material science/Mechanical/Biomedical/
    Chemical/Biotechnology/Electronics/Computer Science from recognized University.

M.Tech. Nano Science and Technology Course Suitability

  • Those who are desirous of knowing that how to operate in a research environment, to set up, manage and perform research projects; including reporting and communicating the results are a good suit for it.
  • Candidates who want to have an in-depth overview of the enabling technologies and key aspects relevant for the field of nanotechnology also can go for it.
  • They should have an open and scientific bent of mind with sound analytical skills and a natural propensity for research work.

How is M.Tech. Nano Science and Technology Course Beneficial?

  • The Master program teaches the basics of physics, biology and chemistry at the nanometre scale, and tops this with courses on technology and engineering to ensure know-how of practical implementations.
  • The Master degree course also beneficial for further studies such as M.Phil. and Ph.D. as it gives a good base for it.
  • The program prepares the students to take up positions as a junior scientist at the entry level of any industries like-Material Chemistry, Nanolithography, Factories of Nanodevices, Commercial cosmetics, NanoMedicine, Medical Electronics, Bio-Medical Industry.
  • The major areas of jobs for the applications are medical and pharmaceuticals, information technology, electronics, magnetic and optoelectronics, energy chemicals, advanced materials and textiles.
