COURSE DESCRIPTION


Ph.D. Journalism and Mass Communication or Doctor of Philosophy in Journalism and Mass Communication is a Doctorate level Mass Communications course.  The Doctoral programme aims at training professionals and teachers in a systematic investigation of various issues and problems in the area of their study to provide new and original insights. Programme broadly covers Journalism, Mass Communication, Electronic Media (radio and television), New Media and Media Studies. The program provides students with a solid foundation in the discipline through multifaceted exploration of the theories and methods that influence the shape and scope of mass communication research. Students are strongly encouraged to develop their own theoretical and methodological approaches to mass communication research and to interact and collaborate with our multidisciplinary faculty on cutting-edge research in mass communication in the global and multicultural context.


Ph.D. Journalism and Mass Communication Eligibility    

  • Master’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with fifty-five percent marks and an M.Phil. from any recognized University or Institution of Higher Learning.
                       Or
    Master’s Degree with fifty-five percent marks in any subject, with five-year experience in the Media Industry/Teaching/Research in Mass Communication.
  • Candidate should clear the common entrance exam conducted by the University for the Course.
