COURSE DESCRIPTION

B.Tech. Mining Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering is an undergraduate Mining Engineering course. Mining engineering is an engineering discipline that involves the practice, the theory, the science, the technology, and application of extracting and processing minerals from a naturally occurring environment. Mining engineering also includes processing minerals for additional value. Right from the Indian Independence, the Indian Public Sector’s mining, mineral, metal and coal industry has been playing an important role in the development and sustenance of the economy of the nation. B.Tech. (Mining Engineering) is four years degree course but may be less or more than this from place to place. The course is very valuable since the old time as mining in India is done on large scale; therefore, it opens a lot of job scopes for the candidates. The course is being provided by the institutes on large scale in the country.

B.Tech. Mining Engineering Eligibility

  • To pursue B.Tech. in Mining engineering the students should have passed their higher secondary board exam from a recognized board in India with science (physics, chemistry, mathematics).
  • Students seeking admission to the B.Tech. programme have to qualify in the IIT-JEE, which is held every year at a large number of centres throughout the country.

B.Tech. Mining Engineering Course Suitability

  • Those who the ability to think analytically, a capacity for detail, and the ability to work as part of a team are the main requisites for one who wants to be in this career are the most suitable for this course.
  • Those who want to become lecturer/teacher in this subject also are good match for it; after having passed their post-graduation plus NET exam they can teach in colleges and universities.
  • Mining engineering as a career combines several areas of expertise. In addition to specialist mining knowledge and engineering expertise, a mining engineer needs strong management skills, good communication people skills and a sound understanding of financial and business principles also can go for the course.

How is B.Tech. Mining Engineering Course Beneficial?

  • Mining is a crucial part in every economy and with the present shortage of important minerals like coal and petroleum all over the world, the demand for mining industry is bound to improve rather than decline. Therefore, mining industry is striving to improve their production for which they are always in need for human resource base.
  • Government mining sector is already facing a shortage of skilled workforce and the industry is taking all steps to develop its operations thereby their need for skilled workforce is further improved. Therefore, government-mining sector has a bright future both in terms of technology and in terms of employment.
  • In addition to technical position in government mining sector, there are also opportunities for candidates belonging to other faculties of education like accountancy, corporate secretary and management, etc.
